Shepherd / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Animal Profile: Twas the week of Thanksgiving when the rescue phone rang. We were asked to help a local family facing eviction and accepted Buddy, Walter and Jovie into the rescue. Named after a favorite holiday film, Elf, these 11-week-old German Shepherd/Poodle pups are ready to spread some Christmas cheer to all far and near…well, at least to three lucky families! They are friendly, social, and were raised in a home with other dogs and children. We are excited to get to know them in foster care. Foster Update: Hi there! My name is Walter. Much like my namesake Walter Hobbs after he found his Christmas spirit, I am a family-focused, very chill, and fun loving guy. About Me & My Favorite Things Personality: I'm very friendly with all people and dogs I meet, have a very chill disposition , and have an almost alarming capacity for smiling — smiling is my favorite! I'm a loyal, affectionate boy who loves to be near his people and to hang out with the other dogs Hobbies: I love running around and making new friends, both human and canine (and look forward to continued socialization with my forever family). I do great with the other dogs and would be great with respectful kids. I'm a big fan of all treats, which I consider to be one of the four main food groups (along with dog food, dog treats, and maybe a little syrup on my kibble—just kidding, maybe). Skills: I'm smart and eager to please! I've been working on my crate training and I'm learning new things every day, especially when treats are involved. I'm also mastering the art of the perfect snuggle and can nap like a champion. House Manners: I am doing great with potty training (and go outside the majority of the time), but I am just a puppy, so it's always best to keep me on a schedule until I fully learn the ropes. What I'm Looking For in a Home My ideal match is a family that is a good mix of laid-back and active, maybe with a fenced-in yard for me to play in. If you're looking for a loyal companion to fill your home with warmth and holiday spirit all year round, I may be the perfect match. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our local rescue partner and arriving to our area foster care on 11/30/2025. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.
