Description:
Animal Profile: Rex is an 8.5 year old, medium sized (currently 44 lbs) neutered male shepherd mix who charms everyone he meets with his soft and sweet temperament and puppy dog eyes that will melt your heart. Rex is social and playful with other dogs, and now that he's feeling good, he's got a ton of pep in his step! He is healthy for activities like long walks and hiking, or zoomies in the yard. He is easy-going in the house, 100% house trained, crate trained (but doesn't need one) and not destructive. He's an easy going companion and recently got an A+ check up from our veterinarian. We'd love to see him in a home with a friendly canine companion, as he is a better eater with other dogs around! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, current core vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, recent examination with a veterinarian. Rex has also had a full diagnostic workup including bloodwork and x-rays. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue. Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: Rex was adopted as a puppy and raised in a family home for more than eight years, when his owner surrendered him to our rescue facing personal crisis. Though Rex does have an extensive history of vet care historically, he had not been to the vet in some time and came to us emaciated (BCS 1/10) and anorexic. We have worked hard to rule out any medical explanation for his condition, and Rex is healthy and thriving in foster care. He is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.
