Description:
Animal Profile: Misty and Ash are husky mix puppies rescued from Central Washington. We were contacted by Valley Spay & Neuter about several young puppies found running loose on reservation land. Some of the puppies had been hit by cars, and none had access to food, water, or safe shelter. Without a rescue placement, they would have been released back into the area. When we heard their story, we knew we had to help. Ash and Misty were brought to safety and are now in the Seattle area. They are sweet, curious, and ready to find safe, loving homes. Foster Update: Wow! Misty is a dream of a puppy! For an approximately 8-week-old puppy (now 3 months) I am so impressed with her potty training and crate training. Very little whining in the crate unless she needs to go potty. She is waking up once during the night to be let out. I would recommend that she goes to a home with a resident dog as she adores playing and cuddling with ours. She is pretty curious on her own but has looked to our resident dog for some guidance. Misty has also done incredibly well with our almost 4yo child. Misty mainly likes following her around and occasionally will nip but has been very receptive when we tell her no. Misty is good at entertaining herself with toys when our dog wants a break and loves the chance to cuddle up on your lap. We have 2 cats and Misty has done well with both, minimal barking and very receptive of hissing/paw slaps when she got too close. We added a video of Misty with one of our cats. Foster Update 11/10: Happy to report that Misty is still such a good puppy and her personality is really starting to show. She can be a little sassy including barking at our resident dog when she wants to play more. We are continuing to work on "sit" with her. She knows how to do it but is sometimes a little stubborn. Misty continues to do well on walks and greets every dog she meets with excitement and is always ready to wrestle. The videos of Misty with our resident dog show a bit of her play style. When she is in the yard she loves to run and is enjoying fetch. Misty loves our cats, maybe a bit too much but tries to be very playful with them. Her ears are hilarious, Sometimes they are up, sometimes down and sometimes one is floppy while the other is straight up. Misty loves our 4 year old daughter but she does have typical puppy behaviors like a little nipping and jumping. She is getting much better at being told no, but still does it on occasion, especially when really excited.
