Male Dog, American Staffordshire Terrier
American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
Marshall is an estimated 11-month-old, 47 lb "Texas Golden Dog" (bully breed mixed with probably some lab, herding breed, etc.) neutered male shepherd mix who was a stray in rural Texas and taken in by our partner Saving Shelter Strays. He is sensitive, medium energy, friendly with new people, good at matching energy/play styles with other dogs, and did great meeting a cat on his visit to the vet. He is doing well with crate training and is smart and sweet. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Update: Marshall is awesome! He s a terrific Happy Go Lucky guy who is very affectionate and lovable. He would be a great adventure buddy for long walks, hikes or maybe even agility! Marshall enjoys his crate and even enjoys bath time! Fireworks and loud noises don't bother this boy, he even slept through the MARINER'S game. He's new to lots of things and is excited about all the world has to offer. So far he's been great with all the dogs and people that he has met, he's house trained, and has already learned "sit" and is working on "down". He is working on recall and "stay" and is highly food motivated and trainable. He enjoys toys and playing tug and does terrific on car rides. He is like a little kid, so interested in everything and we are working on his leash manners. He is not a big barker, will alert to the dreaded UPS person, but quickly quiets down. COME MEET HIM! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate.
