Foster Update: Emma is such a pleasure to foster! She’s a pretty easy-going dog and she loves nothing more than cuddling up next to you on the couch. She loves people, takes treats very gently and is very treat-motivated. She enjoys playing with toys and sometimes wrestling with the other dogs in the house. We fostered a small-breed dog who recently got adopted and the two of them were inseparable. She has also gotten along well with our large-breed male dogs. We’re currently working on some basic commands and building her confidence. She’s settled into her new routine quite well. We’re also working on her leash manners and learning that the squirrels we see on walks do not need to be chased. Emma is potty-trained and sleeps quietly through the night in her crate. She’s still learning that we come back when we leave the house, so she can sometimes be vocal in her crate when we are out of the house. Overall, Emma is a lovely, affectionate dog who we believe will be a wonderful addition to the right family. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
