Male Dog, Chihuahua

Chihuahua (Short Coat)

Description:

Animal Profile: Chester is an estimated 6-year-old, 7 lb male chihuahua who was a stray intake to the overcrowded Caddo Parish shelter in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is a friendly little man who was social with other little dogs upon temp testing. We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Update: Chester is an extremely gentle and affectionate dog. He enjoys constant companionship and likes to stay by your side. While he doesn't bark often, he may bark briefly when he's particularly excited, such as when you return home. Regarding house training, Chester is making good progress, though he is still learning. He typically waits to be taken outside to relieve himself, but occasionally has accidents. We are also working with Chester on his crate training when home alone. He did show some anxiety at first, and we had to reinforce his crate, but he is doing much better now and is really benefiting from being more comfortable in his crate. Lastly, Chester prefers a more sedentary lifestyle and is not particularly fond of lengthy walks. He seems happiest when he can remain at home with his human companions. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Caddo Parish Animal Shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and arriving to Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on 3/23/25. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.
