Female Dog, Maltese
Maltese
Description:
Animal Profile: Meet Angel! True to her name, this sweet girl is pure love. Angel is a 3.5-year-old Maltese weighing about 14 lbs. She was rescued from a hoarding/breeding situation and came to us very shy and unsure. With time, patience, and a caring foster home, Angel has truly started to shine. She's soft, gentle, and learning that people can be kind. Now she's ready to leave her past behind and find a forever home where she can continue to blossom. Foster Update: Angel is a sweet, gentle pup who’s happiest curled up on the couch right next to her people. After a few days of settling in and recovering from her spay, her loving personality has really started to shine. She’s a low-maintenance, low-energy girl most of the time—perfect for snuggles and shadowing her humans around the house—but she still gets playful bursts, especially with her hilarious morning zoomies after coming out of her crate. Angel can be a little shy when meeting new people, but she’s never aggressive—just cautious at first. Once she feels comfortable, she’s quick to climb onto the couch for pets and belly rubs. She’s mostly potty trained (only a couple of accidents post-surgery) and has been wonderful in the house—no chewing issues and very minimal shedding. On walks, Angel shows good leash manners. She pays little attention to other dogs or animals and only occasionally pauses to watch people passing by. She’s also making progress with crate training and learning basic cues like “sit” and “down.” While she does experience some separation anxiety and may bark or whine when left alone, she’s already improving and learning that her crate is a safe, cozy space. Angel is a gentle, affectionate little shadow who just wants to be near her people. With a bit of continued training and patience, she’s sure to make a devoted, loving companion for a very lucky adopter.
