Male Dog, Maltese

Maltese / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed

Description:

NAME: KIPPIS (FINNISH for Cheers!) AGE/GENDER: DOB 5.2.23 MALE (brother to KANPAI) BREED: MALTESE/POODLE/POMERANIAN TEMPERAMENT: Cautious, curious and mischievous WEIGHT: 15ish lbs HOUSE TRAINING: He is making great progress when given a reliable schedule for potty breaks. CRATE TRAINING: He does well in his crate if his dog friends or humans are nearby. OTHER DOGS: Good. He enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home. CATS: Unknown CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 12 and older ADOPTION DONATION: $600 HEALTH: Prior to adoption, KIPPIS will be neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward offsetting the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care. HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find KIPPIS a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do! NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Kippis is slow to trust so don't be offended if he won't let you pet him immediately. After he warms up to you, he's perfectly content to snuggle up next to you on the couch and receive all the pets. He is very smart and crafty so he needs to be challenged to avoid getting bored and finding ways to entertain himself. Kippis loves to chew on things so make sure that he has proper treats and toys available to channel these urges appropriately. He has proven to be an escape artist so if you need to leave him unsupervised, a play pen may not be sufficient as he can manage to pull in nearby blankets to gain enough footing to climb out (learned this one the hard way). Kippis also has a cat-like style of exploration where he will climb onto end tables or window sills so setting boundaries is important. While he can be a bit stubborn and anti-social at first, it's all that more rewarding when he finally comes out of his shell. All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup! ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue! We are a rock and roll themed, volunteer-run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo is a FOSTER BASED organization, which means our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes (or partnering pet stores) where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. We do not have animals available for casual viewing and same day adoption. Due to the volunteer run structure and decentralized/ virtual nature of a foster based group, an approved application is required to make an adoption appointment for any of our animals. If you are interested in one of our Adoptable Roadies, please email [email protected] and request an adoption application (the auto-responder also has a link to our application). We will work toward getting you approved as an adopter so that we can set a time for you to meet your new best friend! Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment Dog Daycare" in Redmond, WA where proceeds from this service, help support our rescue's vet budget- however, this is NOT a shelter. For more information about daycare or training, check out www.rockstartreatment.org. Please visit our website www.motleyzoo.org for more information! Thanks for considering adoption- we look forward to helping you find your best match in a furry friend. Rock on- The Motley Zoo Crew
