Description:
**LEOPOLD** Meet Leo, a gentle and loving Chihuahua-Poodle mix who enjoys taking life at a slow pace. He may feel nervous in new situations, so he is looking for a family that understands he might need some time to warm up. Leo needs a patient family who can empathize with his past experiences and help him feel safe. Once he gets to know you, he will be a devoted friend! Leo will do well with dog-savvy kids over the age of 10. Leo is approximately 2 years old, neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and microchipped. He was in foster care, where he got along fabulously with the foster's older small dog. Leo is open, curious, loving, and a bit shy. He is currently at The Rescue Ranch in Arlington, where he enjoys running around the yard with his little buddy, Fabio and older friend Bernie, and soaking up the sunshine. Leo came to us underweight, but he loves his human-grade dog food, is gaining muscle, and is almost at his perfect weight. Leo enjoys being held and loves to be talked to, especially when he is praised for being a good boy. Although he was initially wary and has shown signs of previous abuse, Leo will truly flourish once he feels safe and understands that he is not in harm's way. He craves love, attention, and affection. Weighing just 7.5 pounds, Leo is a dog who thrives on companionship. He adores having a little buddy to play with, share a bed with, and chase around the yard. Leo is housebroken, understands commands, and responds to the word "no," which shows that he knows how to stop and avoid getting hurt or into trouble. He is attentive and eager to become someone's forever-loving pup. **How to Adopt Leo:** To start the adoption process, please use the link below to apply. Our volunteers will review your application, address any questions you may have, and assess if you're a good match for Leo. If a match is found, the next step is a meet-and-greet, where you can get to know Leo and see if you both connect. Please note that using a computer for the application is recommended to avoid any issues with tablets or cell phones. Leo has transitioned to a human-grade diet designed for his health and well-being, steering clear of kibble. We will educate his adopters on the proper diet and nutrition for him and his new furry friends. There is a $495 adoption fee, and all funds will be used to cover medical care and rescue more dogs. Please complete the online application using the link provided and provide thorough answers. The more you share, the better we can understand you and make the best match for Leo. https ://rompinpawsrescue .com
