Keep calm and woof on.

Male Dog, American Bulldog
American Bulldog (Short Coat)
Description:
Foster Update 2.0! "Sweet, handsome, funny, well behaved (good free roaming in home), goofy - has thrown my walking shoe at me when I take too long to put them on. No messes. No getting into the trash or food stuffs or articles/items that aren’t his. Terrible at folding laundry; definitely not helpful making the bed. -Knows the difference between “pee-pee” and “potty”. -Loves rides in cars - sits very well in right rear passenger seat - and First Landing/The Narrows. He is good with swimming and showers/baths. -Do NOT go thru Starbucks drive thru without a pup cup!!! Major bad move. -Early days he got my night gown off the bed. Now he just gets on my side of bed or my pillow. -Very good on leash can keep some slack in it. Will slow down for “easy”. -Hunting/tracking skills are laser quality. -Knows what his “baby” is and has (2) favorites. Sleeps with a baby and has learned to get his baby when he is anxious. -Anxiety about other dogs - we are working very diligently on that and he has come a loooong way. “Safe” is his word and we are safe by “going this way” (away from the dog). It takes some diligence on the walker’s part as you have to be his advocate and get him away from his anxiety. He will recall to “see me” and moving your hand towards center of your face. He will look at you and come and sit on your feet. -Good with getting his nails trimmed and his feet handled. Will allow his feet to be wiped/cleaned. -Allows his teeth to be scrubbed with dental pads and your finger. -He is gentle and loves children - but based on his size and agility suggest taller more steady children. Great with all people curious and loving. If he doesn’t “take” to a person believe him. It’s worth it. He isn’t awful or mean; he just sets his head and shoulders and pushes his tush against you and away. -He so needs to be active and busy - he is just 4y.o and would be a huge asset to a SAR team. His skills and focus on a hot trail are wonderful and he would be thrilled to “work”. Plus lots of activity but not much interaction with other dogs. -He is good in the yard - supervised - and will come away from something (digging a hole) when called. He might saunter the long way back but he stops the not good thing and does return." Foster Update: Kobi is doing very nicely - still very good in the apartment learning new things and enjoying outing to Seashore state park. He is a hoot! Things Kobi taught me in (4) days He is sweet lovable and attentive. Eager to please. He will bring his bowl to eat WITH you. Eager to help around the apt (by putting his toys all around). Curious /engaged. He loves showers. He doesn’t appreciate being left - he’s pushy about coming along BUT I have been going in and out to practice. He will stop and halt to a sharp whistle and sharp “Halt” (thankfully!) He is settling in - not pacing/panting or restless. He boops you with a toy to play. A cuddler and kisser sometimes a little much kissy face. Wonderful with small children good with people - even when walking at dark. A little hesitant in new venues. NOT any fan of any dog. Curious about squirrels, can leave them easily. Good with his toys and an absolute gentleman in the apt out of his crate today during work!!!!
