Male Dog, Hound

Hound / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Uri is a five-year-old hound with a heart as big as his smile. He was originally found as a stray in Rustburg and brought into a home, but when it didn’t work out with the other dogs there, he came to us. Now neutered, microchipped, and fully vetted, Uri is ready to find the family he truly belongs with. This easygoing gentleman has the classic hound personality—laid-back, affectionate, and gentle. He’s good with livestock, chickens, and even cats, making him a wonderful companion for a family with a variety of animals. Uri loves car rides and is learning how to play and socialize nicely with other dogs. He also does well with children, showing patience and a sweet, kind nature. Volunteers describe Uri as a “dream dog”—responsive, funny, and a true people-lover. He was even chosen to help demonstrate safe handling and leash walking during volunteer orientation because of how calm and easygoing he is. Uri likely spent much of his life on a tie-out, but he’s embracing the joy of being free, loved, and part of a family. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who just needs a chance, Uri could be your perfect match.
