Female Dog, Pit Bull Terrier

Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

NAME: Poppy BREED: Pit Bull Mix BIRTHDAY: 2023 WEIGHT: 50lbs ADOPTION FEE: $250 Poppy came to use from a small rural shelter in NC. We had pulled two lovely beagles from them and were happy to work with them again to save one more (even if "one more" was a half-grown pup!). Poppy was just like her videos- nervous but sweet and eager to make new dog friends. She's not sure about new people just yet (although she absolutely loves her foster mom and is a constant shadow/snuggle buddy), but just needs some time to get to know new human friends. She has shown no aggression towards strangers but may be a little rough for very small children. Poppy is house and crate trained, rides well in the car and needs work on leash walking. She lives with dogs of all sizes but would be fine as an only dog. Canine friends should be ready for a rough and pushy playmate, or ready to correct if they're only interested in a casual friendship. We do not recommend a home with cats. Fast approaching her terrible twos, Poppy will need basic training and structure to thrive in her new home. Of course, if you don't mind a little bit of chaos she is fine "as is"! Why take a chance on Poppy? There's nothing really extraordinary about her, she's just a regular brown pit bull. But that's why she needs your help- she has been overlooked for almost a year, and deserves more than a life in foster care. Please consider this good girl, or share if you are not able to adopt at this time.
