Female Dog,

Unknown Breed (Short Coat)

Description:

Though Icy's name may suggest that she's cold, she is anything but! She loves every person that she meets, and can't help but spread love and show off her smile everywhere she goes. Icy has never known a stranger, and on her most ideal day would greet anyone looking to make an almost instant love connection on a walk. Then top that off by welcoming a fan club worth of people into her home —ready to indulge her with belly rubs, back scratches, and all of the attention that she is so deserving of. And because she shines so beautifully and brightly in the spotlight, she would love to be the only pet in her adoptive home. Icy is estimated to be around ~9 years old, and was found in the city as a stray. After being at the city shelter, Icy went into foster care where she has been enjoying the good life full of; couch naps, dog beds, snacks, and play time. She has won over the heart of every person that she has crossed paths with since, and has met and loved humans of all ages. She always leaves them wanting more, and is truly just a lovebug at her core. Icy is happy to keep you company while hanging out or working and would prefer a home where someone is home for most of the day, or has a flexible schedule, so that she can spend it snoozing near them for the remainder of her golden years. For skills, she is getting into some near professional territory with her talent for taste testing and achieving clean plate club status while her foster mom cooks. She has yet to meet a food that she doesn't enjoy, aside from bananas, and is very happy to snack on some enrichment throughout the day to keep her busy. She is a big fan of puzzles, snuffle mats, and lick mats, and is excellent about using her nose to sniff out the scene. Icy is housebroken and does pretty well in her crate, but is also very fond of her dog beds, blankets, couches, or any other soft surface that is calling to her. She also has a spunky side to her and does well for walking on leash, or spending time zooming around in a yard (see here), no matter the weather. And despite having arthritis, she is able to have zoomies, get around well on walks, and even on stairs. As she continues to age and need continued care, Icy would love to have a cozy spot that doesn't require too much climbing to call her own. She is also very hard of hearing or more likely deaf, but is still a lover of squeaky toys (even if she can't hear them), and knows "sit" and "paw" with the help of some hand signals—and treats of course. Icy's lack of hearing doesn't seem to affect her too much, aside from sometimes not realizing how loud her bark can be, but she will need continued management for her chronic ear infections, and allergies. Her dreamy adoptive home for will give her the time and space to decompress and get to know her true personality, while committing to taking on her ongoing care by getting her established with a full-service veterinarian. Icy has been patiently waiting for her forever family to continue to spread her love the only way she knows how, to infinity, and beyond!
