Male Dog, Terrier

Terrier / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Freckles is just the happiest and most loving guy! He adores people and is always looking for some love. He is just under 50 lbs and he thinks that is perfect lap dog size . He is around 2 years old and is suspected to be a lab/terrier mix. Freckles was picked up as a stray and then spent many months in the shelter being overlooked. We are so glad to have him in a foster home and see how truly sweet and wonderful he is! Freckles doesn't have a mean bone. He has been wonderful with the many dogs in his foster home. He would be great with other dogs but would also be fine as a solo pup. He LOVES his people and wants to be close to them so we don't think he would mind being an only dog at all. Freckles walks pretty well on a leash but can get strong when he gets excited to see another dog or people that he might get to say hello to. He rides nicely in the car and was an absolute doll at a recent vet check up. Freckles in crate trained and housebroken. He gets a little excited to get attention and will jump up on people but his foster is working on it. He really just wants to give and get love so badly. We think he would be fine with kids but parents should consider their kiddos size and the training he still needs on not jumping. Sweet Freckles is going to make a family very happy! If you are interested in him please email us at [email protected]. (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area South Jersey and northern Delaware only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at [email protected]. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!
