Male Dog, Brittany

Brittany / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Hey, who’s ready to play and have some fun? Me! Me! Me! My name is Alvin and I wanna have fun and I’m looking for adventures! I love to play and wrestle. Like I said, my name is Alvin or you can call me Big Al because I’m 56 pounds and one big fluff ball. I was a stray so unfortunately I can’t tell you about my past except for the fact that I’m very sweet and very handsome. Did you happen to notice my long fluffy tail? Isn’t it gorgeous? I am approximately two years old and the best guess is I am a Brittany herding dog mix. Maybe I have some Great Pyrenees genes since I have double dewclaws on my hind legs. These dewclaws are going to provide extra traction when I go on hiking adventures with my next family. Did you see my ears perk up? I am so smart and ready to please! Wanna know how smart I am? I know sit, touch, and down. I’m very responsive and will listen when you whistle or call my name. I will need some additional training and would love to continue to learn. I’m going to thrive in a home that wants to be active and will include me in all that you do. I'm still kinda puppy-ish. I need to work on my excitement level and bouncing around. It's best that I don't have small children in the house, because I might knock them over. Oh, and I need someone strong to hold my leash and work on my pulling when I walk in my harness. I'm a really good car rider, so we can go, go, go! I'm learning it's OK to sleep in the crate with a blanket. I spent too much time in a big crate jail so I hope you would prefer to cuddle in bed, because I sure would. I would love to have a sibling that wants to play and wrestle, but if not, that's OK, just set up some play dates for me. I'm a beautiful boy that is ready for my forever family. The adoption fee for Alvin, who lives in Colorado is $325, which helps offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. If you are interested in making Alvin a part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org . Your state coordinator/volunteer will conduct a phone interview, home visit and vet check as part of the approval process. Once all 3 have been approved, we will begin the matching process. Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.
