Description:

Hello! My name is Darwin, and yes — I am as cute as everyone says! I came to the shelter as a stray, unsure about all the new faces, sounds, and especially the dogs. At first, I was pretty shy, but with time, I started to realize that people can be pretty great — and now, I’ve got a few good friends here I really trust.I’m looking for a forever home that’s patient and loving, one that will give me time to settle in and build my confidence. I may take a little while to warm up, but once I do, you’ll get to see my sweet, silly, and snuggly side.I’ve been going to dog playgroup here at the shelter, and I’ve done well — so with a proper introduction, I could possibly live with another dog friend. I do tend to be a little more nervous around men, so I might need some extra time and reassurance — but I’ve got a soft spot for anyone who shares snacks. Cheese or hot dogs? That’s the way to my heart. If you’re the kind of person who understands that good things take time, I’d love to meet you. Let’s take it slow — and see how far we can go together. With hope,Darwin – A Gentle Soul Ready for His Second ChanceIf this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neutering-heartworm testingAdoption fee: $135.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2025 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older.
