Roscoe is a big-headed, big-hearted cuddle bug who enjoys a good walk, sniffing games, and the occasional burst of zoomies before settling in as close as possible to his person. He loves puzzle toys, treats, and playtime, knows sit and down, and genuinely enjoys training. He does best with routine and enrichment and can entertain himself, but he’s also very people-focused and affectionate once he feels comfortable. Roscoe can be strong on leash and may pull, so continued leash training will be helpful. He has liked some of the dogs he’s met so far and would benefit from slow, planned, and monitored introductions to new people and pets. He appears housetrained, with some leeway needed during the first few days in a new routine. Roscoe can be a bit anxious at times, especially with car rides or brief separations, but he settles well with reassurance and structure.Here are some foster notes on Roscoe: `Roscoe did a sleepover with us for about a week with my other large Pitbull and tabby cat. Roscoe is very affectionate towards humans and cuddles well. He loves to walk and go on runs at any time of the day since he is energetic, but calms down eventually with enrichment, toys, or commands. Roscoe loves to be scratched on his back and slowly rubbed on his face and ears. He is getting comfortable with being rubbed on his belly, but is still cautious. Roscoe is trained to sit and lie down if needed. Roscoe is also trained not to escape from doors and sit when the door is open. Roscoe struggled at first with possessiveness and sharing toys, but was easily trained not to show aggression towards chew toys and bones. He loves to play with other dogs in segments, but should not be left with dogs for long periods of time due to his energy levels. Roscoe tries to dominate other animals in which creates some tension, but he does best in houses with specialized attention and by himself. He also loves to be outside and would benefit from a large yard or frequent activity, but does love a good couch or bed nap.Roscoe will do well with 1-on-1 attention and would do well in a house without other animals or kids/teenagers. Roscoe will do well with empty nesters and adults. Roscoe does well with animals like fish and does not dig or get into anything. He does try to drink toilet water if he runs out of water (he drinks water in large amounts and quickly after play time, so it is best to keep him hydrated). Roscoe is strong and does leash pull, but wrapping the leash around the waist limits his ability to pull. He does well with harnesses and a short leash. He is very well potty trained; he will pee in one spot once outside, but does enjoy sniffing and marking around his environment. He does a cute little foot shuffle after he is done peeing and pooping. Roscoe will form a bond easily with his owner and will become very protective if in any dangerous situations.Overall, Roscoe is so affectionate in low-stress and calm situations, but does enjoy exciting environments if his energy is worn down. He is both independent when it comes to playing and walking around the house but he will come up to snuggle when he is done playing and ready for his nap. Roscoe minds well and will be a great companion for anyone needing a best friend.The favorite thing I love about Roscoe is his ability to cuddle, provide a lot of warmth, give hugs, and give many kisses. He is friendly and loves new adventures, but really cherishes his specialized and 1-on-1 attention. He makes you feel like the most special person in his world.``Roscoe is a sweetheart and wants to be in the presence of humans! He has adjusted well to being in a single person apartment with no other animals. Roscoe enjoys being curled up in a ball on the couch, ideally the same room as his human foster. He is kind, loving, curious, happy to be with you, and no stranger to a puppy eye. He enjoys short and long walks outside, occasionally playing with a tennis ball, and taking his medicine with peanut butter. Roscoe would prefer to sleep in your bed with you, and feels most comfortable right up against your body at night. A cuddler! Receiving verbal praise gets his tail wagging. I believe Roscoe to be house trained - no accidents inside. He goes outside to walk/bathroom x4 a day.``I think Roscoe was amazing. He is such a good boy. He is young and he is energetic, but he eventually calms down by himself. He may run around the entire place, but he does not kick things over but he might get his paw in his water bowl. He drinks a lot of water, so it is good to always have that filled. He likes to sleep in the bed with you and in general, he likes to be around where you are. However, that behavior changed after a few days. He was completely independent while playing or having a bone. He will definitely let you know when he needs to go outside, he makes a little cry for it. He goes 4 times a day. He will also let you know when he is hungry (once in the morning and once in the afternoon). He gets anxious in the car. If riding alone, use a crate. If riding with someone else, it’s ok. However, once again, this behavior improved as day passed. So, it is important to be mindful that the shelter environment may cause some stress on him, but as day passes he decompresses and relaxes.``Roscoe is such a sweet, silly dog! I have taken him out a few times and love him so much. He is a bit anxious and doesn't like to be on his own too much, but he is truly the best companion who loves his people more than anything. He is super energetic at first, but once he settles in, he is a big snuggle buddy and can calm down so well. He deserves the best home and would truly make the best companion for someone who has a lot of love to give.`
