Male Dog, Black Labrador Retriever

Black Labrador Retriever (Short Coat)

Description:

Meet Bear! This sweet boy was found in an animal dumping area in Lake Charles, LA. He was starving and clearly had a history of abuse from the way he acted -- cowering and peeing when his kind, heroic rescuer approached him. Bear had no food aggression even as starved as he was. He let his rescuer pick him up and put him in her car even though he was terrified. Here's what his rescuer says about this wonderful boy: "I've never met a sweeter dog. He loves children and other dogs. He learns quickly and follows directions to stay in the fence when I open the gate and to come back when called. He also learned to play fetch quickly by watching my dogs. He had adult teeth when I found him but I think he grew a bit so he is likely a year old. He is playful, not at all aggressive even with food, he loves attention, and has slept inside. He loves his peanut butter toys and will come with those." Local rescue organizations and shelters in the Lake Charles area are so full that they recommended Bear's rescuer seek help from out of state, and that's why we're stepping in. Please pass the word along to anyone you know who might want to give this deserving boy a secure, comfortable and happy life with lots of food, cuddles and snuggles. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Bear, send us an email at [email protected], telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle.
