Female Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair (Short Coat)

Description:

Meet Wendolyn! This grey tabby sweetheart was found as an 8-week-old in the middle of Trindle Road in Mechanicsburg, unable to walk. A kindhearted Good Samaritan took her to the emergency room and THANK GOODNESS she didn't have any broken bones! However, she was in a lot of pain and stress from an enormous, deep gash to the inside of her right back leg. She sailed through the surgery required to fix her up, and was a nice, cooperative girl during her bed rest. She had clearly never been around people and spent much of that bed rest from inside her enclosure watching them and seeing what made them tick. But what she really wanted was to get out and PLAY with the other kittens she saw romping around the room. Eventually Wendolyn was allowed out of her enclosure, and she was very happy about that, BUT then she had to learn how to be in a house--that was quite different from the junkyard we suspect she had hurt herself in. Wendolyn was one to watch everything and come out when she felt completely comfortable. And lucky for her, she was in a foster home where she was allowed to have as much time as she wanted. She learned that people are actually not only good for giving food and treats, but they also give nice pets and have warm bodies to snuggle up against. Wendolyn soon followed the lead of other kittens and learned how to be a lap kitty. She went from shy to waiting to greet you when you opened the door! Wendolyn is good with other cats and well-behaved dogs, and would probably do best in a home with older kids who aren't too loud. Surely Wendolyn will need a couple days to adjust to a new home with new sounds and smells and people, but LCCR has guidance on how to make that adjustment as quick as possible. Wendolyn was born in June 2025 and is currently living in a foster home in Palmyra. Her adoption donation is $135 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing (negative for both), microchip, and spay.
