Description:
Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue Meow! My name is Macy. My estimated date of birth is 6/1/2023, and I’m a lovely 2-year-old brown tabby girl with a gentle heart and an independent spirit. I’m what you’d call a low-maintenance lady. I like to do my own thing and march to the beat of my own drum. I enjoy having my space and choosing when it’s time for affection. But independence does not mean unfriendly! When I come up and give you a little tap or brush against you, that’s my way of saying, “Hi, I like you.” Once I start, I love rubbing against your legs and soaking up gentle pets. Being picked up isn’t really my style, but I’m very happy showing love in my own sweet way. Now let’s talk about something important: I am FELV+. Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is a virus that affects cats’ immune systems. It is spread only between cats (not to people or other types of animals) through close contact like grooming, sharing bowls, or bite wounds. Because FeLV can weaken the immune system over time, FeLV+ kitties may be more prone to infections and need a little extra care. What does that mean for me? I should live indoors to stay safe and healthy. I should live with other FeLV+ cats or be the only cat in the home. I’ll need regular veterinary checkups to monitor my health. With good nutrition, low stress, and proper care, many FeLV+ cats live happy, comfortable lives for years. I currently live peacefully with two other FeLV+ kitties, Stormi and Sweet Pea, in my foster home, and we get along well. I’m playful with other animals and really enjoy toys—especially when I can bat, chase, and show off my fun side. And speaking of important things… FOOD TIME is my favorite time! I absolutely love meals and get very excited when I hear them being prepared. A tasty dinner and a cozy home are the way to my heart. I may require a little understanding because of my FeLV status, but in return you’ll get a confident, playful, affectionate-on-my-terms companion who will fill your home with quiet charm and tabby sweetness. If you’re looking for a special girl who just needs a safe indoor home and a loving human, I could be your Macy. Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family! Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm. All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Please note that while we work hard to keep our available cats up to date we also have many that are not posted yet. Adoption fees are $60 for adult cats and kittens over 6 months old, $100 for kittens (under 6 months) and $30 for senior cats (7 years+) to help cover vet bills for spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, testing, microchips and preventatives. No cat will be officially adopted without being spayed/neutered and vaccinated (unless there are health risks in doing so). We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs and we do discount for double adoptions here to encourage it. We are always in need of donations to help us continue to save hundreds of cats and kittens every year. Visit bit.ly/DonateFLR for more info.
