Description:

Meet Puppet: Gentle Soul in a Tiny, Shy PackageHello there. My name is Puppet, and I’m just a small kitten who has already had quite the start to life. I was found outside all on my own, scared and sick, in a world that felt far too big for someone my size. Thankfully, a kind person brought me to the shelter, where I’ve been given a second chance and some much-needed medical care. The staff here say I was nervous when I first arrived, but I adjusted fairly quickly. That doesn’t mean I’m bold just yet, I’m still learning to trust. I didn’t know much about people before, and I still find them a little frightening. When someone reaches out to pet me, I often try to run and hiss. But the truth is, it’s mostly a bluff. Once I realize I’m safe, I go still and allow gentle touch. I don’t scratch or bite, I just freeze and try to figure out if this is one of those “good human” moments I keep hearing about. One of the volunteers has been spending quiet time with me to help me build confidence. I tend to sit very still in my litter box when someone comes in, but I’ll let them pet my head. When I’m wrapped in a towel and held calmly, I seem to find some comfort. With slow, quiet interactions, soft talking, gentle touches to my face, little strokes on my legs and paws I’ve shown I can relax. I’m not the type to demand attention, but I am slowly learning to receive it.I know I have a long way to go, but each day I’m discovering that maybe the world isn’t as scary as it seemed.Puppet is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can take his time learning to trust. He’s not a lap kitten yet, but for someone with patience, kindness, and a quiet home, he could grow into a deeply rewarding companion.Sometimes the smallest, most unsure kittens have the biggest hearts and they just need someone to show them how to use them. One of the biggest and most exciting times in anyone's life is adopting a new kitten! Cats can live well over 12 years, and will need a lifetime of love, care, commitment, and patience. Before plunging into kitten parenthood, make sure to research! There are many rewards to caring for a kitten, but there are also many requirements.
