Description:
Meet Poppet: Tiny, Timid, and Totally Worth ItHello there. My name is Poppet, and Iâm just a little kitten trying hard to make sense of this big, confusing world.I was found outside all alone, feeling pretty scared and unwell. Luckily, a kind person scooped me up and brought me here to the shelter where I could get the medical care I needed, along with a shot at something I didnât even know existed- a safe, loving home. Before coming here, I didnât know much about humans. Honestly, Iâm still trying to figure them out. Theyâre big, they move fast, and sometimes they try to touch me when Iâm not quite ready. When that happens, I usually try to run away or give a tiny hiss, but truth be told, itâs mostly for show. If someone gently persists, I freeze up and let it happen. I donât lash out, I donât scratch or bite. I just go still and wait, unsure if itâs going to be okay.Thatâs the thing: I want to believe itâs going to be okay. I want to learn that people can be kind and gentle and bring good things, like soft voices, safe hands, warm laps, and maybe even a few toys or treats.I know Iâm not the confident, purring-in-your-arms type of kitten. Not yet. But I am the kind of kitten who, with time and patience, could become someoneâs quiet little shadow, their softest success story.Poppet is looking for a calm, understanding home with people who see the scared little kitten he is now and believe in the brave, loving cat he could grow up to be.He may take a while to warm up, but for the right person, that first tiny moment of trust will be something truly special. One of the biggest and most exciting times in anyone's life is adopting a new kitten! Cats can live well over 12 years, and will need a lifetime of love, care, commitment, and patience. Before plunging into kitten parenthood, make sure to research!
