Wanted: Patient cat loverSpirit grew up on a horse farm with other cats. She required immediate spay surgery in October and was surprisingly not a feral cat. Spirit wasn't used to be petted but she obviously enjoyed it given the purrs that erupted. She remains cautious and may always have that instinct, but she is truly a lovely companion, and very low maintenance. It took her a while, but Spirit now enjoys sitting beside you on the couch. She loves lying in a cozy bed and eating a dish of canned food twice a day. She'll even talk for breakfast now! Spirit loves having her picture taken and is oh so photogenic! She prefers to be in charge, in other words, wait and she will come to you. She doesn't mind manicures as she lays down beside you versus holding and securing her for "nail trimming time." Spirit is very in tune with her surroundings. She prefers a quiet lifestyle so will probably not be suitable in a home with small children unless the children are very calm and respectful of her space. Spirit has learned to play with toys and enjoy them for what they are! She is polite with the other cats but doesn't interact with them a lot so should be fine as an only cat. Spirit has been introduced to a cat savvy dog on multiple occasions and has never appeared to be upset by the dog's presence. Spirit needs a patient adopter because she needs time to trust. Spirit is negative for FeLV/FIV, spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines.
