Description:
Salsarita, a beautiful, dilute calico polydactyl (extra toes), is not the fiery cat her name suggests, though she does get the hot-streak zoomies on occasion! She’s a very sweet girl who adores human companionship. She’s a bit like a dog-cat… running to you when called, and following you around. She loves her wand toy and will chase it around until she tires herself out completely! Between bouts of play, she can be found sitting in the window taking in the outdoor scenes. Bugs on the screen are especially interesting. She would love a home with a screened-in porch, but a good window to lay in is a must.Salsarita is truly THE most affectionate cat I’ve met in years! She’ll lay on your lap for long periods of time just soaking up your attention. She loves to makes biscuits with her big mitten paws, head-butts you in affection, and purrs her way right into your heart. She is also a love-biter, occasionally giving little nips of affection to your hands when you’re petting and scratching her. She can get over-stimulated and turn her gentle love bites into stronger warning nips or grabs to say hey… that’s enough. She’s a sensitive girl who needs an experienced cat-lover who will know how to read cat body language and respond with calm energy. Her perfect new family would be one or two people who are home a lot, want to shower this girl with lots of love and attention, and have no other pets. She does not like other cats or dogs and due to the love bites, she is not suited for a home with young children in it or that visit often.Be the first to meet Salsarita by completing the online adoption application. Then a meet and greet can be scheduled in her foster home where she is comfortable and can show you her best self. She did not do well attending a noisy adoption event at PetSmart. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at [email protected] for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
