Male Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair

Description:

SPECIAL NEEDSL FELV+. Who knows where this little man came from...he showed up at an office one morning, loving on everyone in his path. Very sweet boy but clearly sick....he had eye issues, upper respiratory infection and was malnourished when he turned up Turns out he was FELV positive too. We fixed the eyes (surgery for entropian, where the eyelids turn in and lashes rub against the cornea causing irritation) and got him past the URI and now this loving little boy is picking up weight and is ready for his forever family. It should be a home with no other cats or cats that are FELV+ as FELV is contagious and can be transferred to other cats. Could he live 15-20 years? Yes! Could he pass at a young age? Yes. But he still deserves love, maybe even more than others. He can live with dogs or as the only cat in the home. He has a comprimised immune system and should be indoors only.Like all our cats, he is neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. Meet Kerkimer at The Thrift Hound, 7 days a week druing regular business hours. Store staff are unable to process applications on site so complete the adoption application online to be pre-approved for adoption before visiting if you may want to take him home the same day. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at [email protected] for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
