Male Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair

Description:

Declan is FELV+ (progressive) and should be either the only cat in the home or only in a home with another FELV+ cat. Declan is a lovely curious boy who loves to lounge and quietly explore every inch of the house. It takes a while for him to accept new people but pets and wet food (and a month) will win his heart. He is tentative at first and may hiss (but doesn't mean it), but he will be chirping and pressing his head into your hand in no time. He also loves butt scratches and will turn around when getting pets to ask for them. He would love a FELV+ friend and has been absolutely perfect to his grumpy foster sister. He will play at times but mostly likes to relax and be approached for loving. He has yet to be a lap cat but given time and comfortability it would not be surprising if he started cuddling, at the moment he loves to lay within arms reach and headbutt for pets. His favorite toy is the laser, even with lower energy he carefully follows it and will pounce if he is feeling particularly energetic. He will also go for a string toy every once in a while when he's in a playful mood. Declan has all the curiosity and sweetness of the typical orange cat with none of the reckless energy. He is vocal sometimes while he walks around and loves to lay in his favorite window seat and watch birds. Once Declan is comfortable in the home he's like an orange shadow to his favorite people. He is waiting to meet you in his foster home so apply to adopt to schedule a meet and greet. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at [email protected] for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
