Description:
Ayrshire is a beautiful, curious tabico (tabby and calico) who loves to play! She especially enjoys leaping for wand toys and chasing the laser pointer. This sweet girl had a rough start to life, so she is still learning to trust people and can be a bit timid and guarded at first. Slow, gentle approaches will work best as she is getting to know you. Additionally, starting her off in a smaller space like a bathroom (with fewer spots to hide) will help her feel less overwhelmed. Once she feels comfortable and secure, Ayrshire loves to be held and snuggled, especially in a soft blanket. She also enjoys head scratches and being brushed by her own special toothbrush. Ayrshire has done well with other friendly, easygoing cats in her foster home. She would most likely not be a fan of dogs that are active at all. Because she is easily overwhelmed by loud noises and too much activity, Ayrshire would be happiest in a quieter home with adults and older children who can continue to help build her confidence. Her newest friend is Victor and it only took them a couple days to become friends. Meet Ayreshire and Victor at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, during our weekly adoption event on Saturday, 12-4pm or apply to adopt to schedule a meet and greet in advance. Get $50 off a pair of kittens. All cats are spayed/neutered, FELV/FIV tested, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at [email protected] for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
