Meet Cheekbone — A Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient Heart Cheekbone is a sweet, sensitive kitty who has made truly wonderful progress since leaving the shelter environment. Initially stressed in a kennel, she’s been steadily learning that home life is safe—and that humans can be kind. She isn’t aggressive at all, just shy, and her quiet bravery shines more each day.In her foster home, Cheekbone has blossomed into a playful, affectionate girl who enjoys being petted, seeks attention, and even chats with the sweetest meows. She loves interactive play with wand toys, lasers, and toy mice, and will happily purr, knead, and relax once she feels secure. While she doesn’t enjoy being held, she absolutely enjoys gentle affection on her terms and will jump into your lap.Cheekbone may still hide briefly when someone enters the room or if a stranger is present, but she no longer stays hidden for long and often comes right back out. It took her about three weeks to fully settle in her foster home, so her future adopter should expect a similar adjustment period—and understand that she may not “show” well at first.She has excellent litter box habits, and gets along well with other cats. In fact, she’s shown friendly interest in a resident cat and would likely benefit from having a calm, confident feline companion. Cheekbone is looking for a cat-savvy adopter with patience, a gentle heart, and an appreciation for the slow-building bonds that mean the most. With time and understanding, she will continue to come out of her shell—and reward her person with trust, affection, and soft little conversations.
