Meet Veronica, the adolescent gray tabby female. Veronica came to the Shelter as a stray with her kittens in tow. A good Samaritan found the little family as a stray and brought them to the Shelter for safety. Veronica was a bit nervous but spent a couple of weeks in a foster home growing her kittens big and strong. She is now ready to be babied herself! With her kittens weaned and the stress of the ârescueâ over, Veronica has really settled in. She has been curious to what is going on around her â often perched on the shelf in her kennel watching people come by⦠waiting for the purrrfect adopter to find her? Veronica may do well in a home with other animals after a slow, thoughtful introduction. She may also do well as an indoor-outdoor cat after a period of acclimation to her new environment and family (at least 30 days). Veronica would likely be just as happy to be an indoor-only kitty moving forward. Veronica is available for pre-adoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. Veronica's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation's Leave No One Behind fund - a fund that draws adopter's eyes towards animals that have been waiting a little bit longer than average for the right adopters to come along and bring them home.Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them
