Description:

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Visiting Room:2Meet Banjo and Boomer—bashful boys who are secret sweethearts! When these two young guys first arrived at OAS from a home where there were too many cats and not enough care, they were overwhelmed by the shelter environment. They stayed in the back of their cage and, although easy to pet, showed little reaction to humans. Now, after lots of gentle socialization, floofy Boomer and sleek Banjo are coming out of their shells. They still like to snuggle together in their cozy cubby, but relax with pets: closing their eyes, purring, turning their heads to guide you to the best scritch spots, and contentedly leaning into your hand. These tightly bonded boys are looking for a quiet, dog- and kid-free home and a patient, experienced adopter who understands that sensitive cats need a slow approach, gentle touch, and lots of kindness to continue blossoming into warm and loving companions.
