Description:
Meet 2 year old Baby Spice, aka Chonk Spice! This FIV+ boy was found during a TNR project one night in Los Angeles in 2024, roaming around an apartment complex and clearly confused. He showed on his first night with his rescuers how friendly he was, flopping onto his back for belly rubs! His foster says: "After interacting with him for a few minutes, we just...set the TNR cage in front of him. It actually accidentally snapped shut right in front of him and scared him, but knowing how scary it was, he still went in after we reopened and reset the trap (even in front of him). We learned that he had been abandoned at the popular dumping ground that night and was just seeking love; so, instead of releasing him, we decided to instead begin the foster journey in hopes of finding his forever home." Baby/Chonk Spice is a bundle of love and affection, but demure in how he presents himself. He usually keeps his respectful distance, but upon invitation is always ready and willing to cuddle, receive scratches, or have a chatty conversation with any humans; however, he wants to do it on your terms! This attitude extends to both other cats and dogs as well more than happy to play on their terms at the energy level they set. During his time with animals of all ages, genders, and sizes/demeanors, his foster says "Baby Spice has always avoided fights and never once been the instigator. While he is comfortable being with other animals, he has shown he is more than willing to be a single cat." Working as a temporary office cat for a month, he found himself comfortably greeting everyone who came into the building and serving as the resident therapy cat, and he will be the first to greet you when you come home. He also loves a tasty treat and will try out any open box! Chonk loves to be wherever you are (as he does have a case of FOMO), but he's very normal about it. He would do the best as either an only cat or with other cats as demure or socially awkward as he is, as he does tend to be a doormat for more dominant cats! Things he dislikes: usually just tolerates being held at best, otherwise nothing he dislikes that is unusual for a cat. He's pretty vibey. He also does well around very calm dogs and young kids. Come meet and maybe even take home Baby Spice today!
