It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. PRINCE CHARMING and several feline family members were saved from a horrific hoarding case in Riverside, California. We know they are all related because the horrible human woman, kept letting them mate. When the Rescue Mama found out she took action. As of OCTOBER 2025, 86 cats have either gone to other rescues or have been saved by us. You will know who these cats are by their names. They have all been named after the show "Once Upon A Time". Aside from the necklaces the kitties wear i in their professional pictures, Rescue Mama names her rescue cats after shows she watches. PRINCE CHARMING is the definition of a survivor with a heart of gold. Arriving from a difficult hoarding case in Riverside, California he faced overwhelming challenges. But despite a rough start in life, this sweet orange tabby holds absolutely no grudges. His spirit is as bright as his ginger fur, and he is ready to write the next, much happier chapter of his life with a loving family. PRINCE CHARMING has quickly learned that a soft human touch and a full food bowl are two of life's greatest pleasures. He absolutely adores his wet food and isn't shy about asking for it—his charmingly persistent "talks" will let you know exactly when he's ready for dinner. These conversations are just one of his many endearing qualities. PRINCE CHARMING is a playful cat who loves to chase toys and bat around anything that crinkles. Watching him play brings pure joy, and his happy spirit is contagious. Sometimes, when he’s deep in thought, you might notice a little worried look on his face, a tiny echo of his past. But a gentle scratch behind the ears or a quiet word is all it takes to remind him that he is safe and loved. He has shown incredible resilience and an ability to trust, proving that true happiness can be found after hardship. He is about 1 year and 4 months old. PRINCE CHARMING is good with cats. He has never been around children but has lived with dogs. Not sure if he actually met the dog but there was a dog in the home. PRINCE CHARMING is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Submit Online Application 4. Someone Will Call / Text to Do Phone Interview (within a week) 5. Will be notified of Approved Application 6. Home Visit (WILL BE SCHEDULED) 7. Official Meet and Greet with Kitty 8. Sign Adoption Contract - AME 9. Pay Adoption Fee (VENMO - ZELLE - PAYPAL or CASH) 10. Take the Kitty Home ********* MAY CONSIDER OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS NEAR CALIFORNIA BUT BE AWARE THAT WE WILL NOT SHIP. ADOPTER WILL NEED TO PICK UP********** VOLUNTEERS are the only ones allowed to let you meet the kitty. Not PETSMART employees. Volunteers are usually at PetSmart between 9 am to 1 pm for cleaning ONLY. The cats currently at PETSMART you are allowed to go visit. A good time to come visit is between 5 pm - 8 pm (Monday thru Saturday) and Sunday 3 pm - 6 pm. The VOLUNTEERS are only there in the evening for 3 hours so please call the PetSmart location, email us or visit the cattery for VISITING HOURS. Most days are different 3-hour shifts. It's based on volunteer availability and store hours. Store hours change with holidays. ******************* If you call the PETSMART location, please ask them to physically check the cattery door for the current week's VISITING HOURS. ****************** The cats/kittens at a foster/rescue home, we will accommodate as much as possible. But steps 1-6 of the ADOPTION PROCESS need to be done before we do the OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS. It is easier to do the meet and greets at the locations listed below: ****Please note we only have cats physically in MURRIETA, INDUSTY and WEST COVINA ONLY. But we can do meet and greets at all 5 locations below locations.**** PETSMART - 17651 Colima Rd, City Of Industry, California 91748 PETSMART - 2153 W Florida Ave, Hemet, California 92545 PETSMART - 25290 Madison Ave, Murrieta, California 92562 PETSMART - 34900 Monterey Ave, Palm Desert, California 92211 PETSMART - 2851 Eastland Center Dr, West Covina, CA 91791 The crazy rescue mama will drive kitties to their new home, meet & greets, etc...once the phone interview and home check have been done. Gas donations always appreciated! ************* Please no calls to the rescue. No one is available to take calls. ************ If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets. Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption. We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. The adoption fee of $200 covers: Neuter FVRCP shots RABIES shot FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative) Drontal Dewormer Stronghold Flea Control Microchip We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens.
