It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! HANSEL and his sisters (GRETEL and WENDY) and tons of feline family members were saved from a horrific hoarding case in Riverside, California. We know they are all related because the horrible human woman, kept letting them mate. When the Rescue Mama found out she took action. As of OCTOBER 2025, 86 cats have either gone to other rescues or have been saved by us. You will know who these cats are by their names. They have all been named after the show "Once Upon A Time". Aside from the necklaces the kitties wear i in their professional pictures, Rescue Mama names her rescue cats after shows she watches. A Glimpse into HANSEL's World HANSEL is a charming ball of fluff with a personality as vibrant as his ginger coat. He is incredibly friendly, overflowing with curiosity, and absolutely loves being the center of attention. He thrives on human interaction and will eagerly lean in for pets and chin scratches, often purring up a storm to show his appreciation. He’s a "people cat" through and through! As a Maine Coon mix, HANSEL is destined to be a big, fluffy boy. He carries himself with a playful confidence that is simply infectious. His expressive eyes are always scanning for the next fun thing, whether it’s a feather toy, a crinkly ball, or just a new cozy spot to explore. Play Hard, Love Harder This little man is an active and energetic kitten who plays hard! He loves to chase, pounce, and explore every nook and cranny of his environment. His ideal day involves a healthy mix of rigorous play sessions, a hearty meal, a good nap in a sunny spot, and, of course, plenty of cuddle time with his humans. Because of his high energy and social nature, HANSEL has a special requirement: he needs a young, friendly feline companion at home. He thrives with a buddy to wrestle with, groom, and share adventures with. This ensures he gets the mental and physical stimulation he needs to be the happiest, most well-adjusted cat possible. He has never been around children but has lived with dogs. Not sure if he actually met the dog but there was a dog in the home. Not a senior cat ****** ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com/adopt 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Submit Online Application 4. Someone Will Call / Text to Do Phone Interview 5. Will be notified of Approved Application 6. Home Visit (WILL BE SCHEDULED) 7. Official Meet and Greet with Kitty 8. Sign Adoption Contract 9. Pay Adoption Fee (VENMO - ZELLE - PAYPAL or CASH) 10. Take the Kitty Home ********* MAY CONSIDER OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS NEAR CALIFORNIA BUT BE AWARE THAT WE WILL NOT SHIP. ADOPTER WILL NEED TO PICK UP********** VOLUNTEERS are the only ones allowed to let you meet the kitty. Not PETSMART employees. Volunteers are usually at PetSmart between 9 am to 1 pm for cleaning ONLY. The cats currently at PETSMART you are allowed to go visit. A good time to come visit is between 5 pm - 8 pm (Monday thru Saturday) and Sunday 3 pm - 6 pm. The VOLUNTEERS are only there in the evening for 3 hours so please call the PetSmart location, email us or visit the cattery for VISITING HOURS. Most days are different 3-hour shifts. It's based on volunteer availability and store hours. Store hours change with holidays. ******************* If you call the PETSMART location, please ask them to physically check the cattery door for the current week's VISITING HOURS. ****************** The cats/kittens at a foster/rescue home, we will accommodate as much as possible. But steps 1-6 of the ADOPTION PROCESS need to be done before we do the OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS. It is easier to do the meet and greets at the locations listed below: ****Please note we only have cats physically in MURRIETA AND INDUSTY ONLY. But we can do meet and greets at all 4 locations below locations.**** PETSMART - 17651 Colima Rd, City Of Industry, California 91748 PETSMART - 2153 W Florida Ave, Hemet, California 92545 PETSMART - 25290 Madison Ave, Murrieta, California 92562 PETSMART - 34900 Monterey Ave, Palm Desert, California 92211 The crazy rescue mama will drive kitties to their new home, meet & greets, etc...once the phone interview and home check have been done. Gas donations always appreciated! ************* Please no calls to the rescue. No one is available to take calls. ************ If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets. Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption. We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. The adoption fee of $250 covers: Neuter FVRCP shots RABIES shot FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative) Drontal Dewormer Stronghold Flea Control Microchip We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens.
