Male Dog, Pit Bull Terrier

Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Name: Elf/Elfie Age: 3 years Breed: Pitbull mix Gender: male Weight: 55 lbs Good with kids: not fostered with children Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: not fostered with kitties Current on vaccinations: Yes Fixed: Yes Foster location: Waupaca, WI Application & Website: https://www.ourpackanimalrescue.com/adoption.html Adoption includes Certified Vet Inspection, and prior vetting paperwork. Bio: Over three years ago, two tiny Christmas puppies named Elf and Angel arrived in Wisconsin, eyes wide with wonder and hearts full of hope. They were just babies—curious, joyful, and dreaming of forever. And not long after, they both found what every rescue dreams of: a home. For Elf, that home was everything. It was all he’d ever known. He grew up there. He gave his heart there. He believed it was forever. But forever, it turns out, had an expiration date. Not long ago, we received a message that no rescue ever wants to get. Elf’s adopter told us her priorities had changed—and that she could no longer keep him. Just like that, his world fell apart. We welcomed him back to Our Pack without hesitation. He’s safe now, and we’re doing everything we can to help him feel loved again. But Elf is grieving. He’s confused. Heartbroken. Still waiting by the door for the life he lost. Because here’s the truth: when you return a dog, they don’t just adjust and move on. They mourn. They struggle. They look for you in every window, every doorway, every passing car. Elf doesn’t understand why his world changed overnight. And he’s searching—still hoping to see the person he thought would always be his. And while we wish we could explain to him why the only home he’s ever known disappeared—why he wasn’t “enough” to stay—we can promise him this: a second chance. One where “forever” really means forever. When he was returned, we were told Elf has had seizures—and we’ve now seen them in his foster home. They’re heartbreaking to witness. Elf is now caught up on his vetting and is beginning seizure medication. Thank you Our Pack! But there are bright moments too: Elf is incredibly friendly, delightfully goofy, and happiest when he’s right by his people. He's smart and already learning the routine of the house, and loving his walks! We’re happy to report that Elf’s sister, Angel (she has a new name now!) featured in Elf's puppy picture, is living the good life in her forever home. Stay tuned for more on Elf. He’s looking for the love he lost—and we know it’s out there.
