Male Dog, Jack Russell Terrier
Jack Russell Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
Don't forget!! We are currently open by appointment only. This is to control the traffic in the building at one time. If you would like to look at the cats/dogs for adoption, or if you need to relinquish or to do any other business, please message our FB page or call us at 304-267-8389 to schedule an appointment. If you see a specific pet for adoption on our FB page we can always set up a specific meet and greet for that as well. Bandit is a 6 yr. old Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix. He is not neutered. He is leash trained and he has been good with dogs big and small! Bandit has never lived with a cat but has lived with roaming guinea pigs. We believe with PROPER, slow, and supervised introductions he would do fine with a cat in the home. Bandit is about 80% housebroken. He will go outside to use the bathroom but he is not good at holding it when he needs to go. Someone who is home most of the time to let him outside consistently, or someone who has a doggy door with a proper fenced in yard would be ideal for his habits. If Bandit gets the chance to run, he will. Bandit does great with people of all ages when he is comfortable but does need time to adjust to new people. When Bandit gets comfortable in his home he will guard it, he barks at every car and person that goes by, so may not be a good choice for an apartment dweller. He will bark at new people that come into the home until he realizes you are not a threat. Bandit is a very smart little guy! He is EXTREMELY treat motivated so teaching him was a breeze. He knows several commands such as sit, lay, speak, beg, spin, paw, fist bump, wait, and more! A meet and greet with all family members and animals living in the home will be required. Please message our FB page if you're interested in meeting Bandit. If you already have a dog, bring them with you for a 'meet and greet' !Adoption fee... $175, cash or credit card, includes spay/neuter, first shots and microchip.. Mon.-Sat. 10-4We understand not everyone can adopt a pet. Some homes are full, some homes do not allow certain pets and some have lifestyles that can't handle a pet right now. You can still help. Sharing pictures on FB, volunteering, or just coming in and sponsoring part of the adoption fee for when the pet is adopted. This helps a lot. No amount is too small to donate towards the adoption fee. If you would like to help sponsor, speak to one of the staff. Especially the cats and kittens need help (since we usually have so many!) Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank You!
