Male Dog, Great Pyrenees

Great Pyrenees (Long Coat)

Description:

Titan is a Great Pyrenees who was living on the streets in southern Dallas County for about three years in a trailer park. He settled in with one particular family that had been feeding him. Our friends Dory, Kenzi, and Twyla had been working with local folks to catch him so he could get the veterinary care he so clearly needed. His coat was matted, full of urine and dirt, and was causing urine scalding on his skin, as well as infections. Shaving him down to the skin removed an estimated 15-20 lbs based on Titan's weight - he started at just under 105 lbs and finished at just over 88 lbs. Due to his ear infection, Titan has had a TECA (total ear canal ablation), and his coat had to be shaved due to the terrible condition it was in. He is all healed from his ear surgery and his coat is coming back in, although it remains patchy in some places. Titan is a happy, friendly boy even though he has had a rough few years lately. He loves people and gets along well with other dogs, and plays regularly with one of the dogs that lives in his area. Titan deserves a family of his own who will give him a life of love and care for the rest of his life.
