This beautiful black Lab is equal parts independent explorer and loving companion. Out in the play yard, Susie Q is calm and content to sniff around and take in the world around her, but sheâll happily pause her adventures for some gentle pets. She's not overly clingy, but she definitely enjoys human company. Susie Q walks well on a leash and is easy to handle, though sheâs smart enough to know when itâs time to head back to her kennel and she might give a little protest bounce just to let you know sheâs not thrilled about it. Still, she remains manageable and sweet throughout. Though she hasnât shown much interest in toys or treats at the shelter, her previous foster shared that she was full of playful energy at home, loved her toys, and stayed close to her people. She even tried to chase the cats - not out of aggression, just over-excitement. She's done great around other dogs in shelter playgroups! Susie Q is currently healing from some skin irritation and hair loss on her neck, and sheâs a bit itchy as her skin recovers - but that doesnât stop her from being a friendly, resilient girl with lots of love to give!
