Male Dog, Pomeranian

Pomeranian (Medium Coat)

Description:

~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later. Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: He had a fatty tumor removed from his chest. It is important to note that this may grow back over time. But it doesn’t not affect/bother him. No other obvious issues found during vet exam~~~~~~~~~~~ Temperament: Meet Rascal, a stunning senior male Pom with a coat that will leave you in awe. Despite a rough first night in his foster home, where he sought solace under the bed, he woke up the next morning full of joy and eagerly anticipating breakfast. This resilient little guy has adapted remarkably well and effortlessly goes with the flow. Sadly, Rascal found himself in the care of Recycled Poms when his previous owner could no longer afford his veterinary expenses. He arrived with a severe case of pancreatitis and a sizable fatty tumor on his chest. However, thanks to the dedicated care he received, the pancreatitis has cleared up, and the tumor has been successfully removed. Currently, he is on the road to recovery, but it is important to note that he will require a special diet and must not be fed human food to prevent a recurrence of pancreatitis. Rascal thrives on walks, car rides, and, of course, mealtime. However, he can be a bit assertive when it comes to food, so if you have other dogs, it may be best to separate them during mealtime. This affectionate boy loves to be close to his person and will happily snuggle up next to them on the couch. Sometimes, he even stands on his hind legs, politely requesting to be placed in bed at night. With his loving nature and endearing quirks, Rascal is sure to make the perfect companion for someone seeking a furry friend to cherish. He loves to go for car rides and to go on store visits where dogs are allowed. He's great for trips but not if you plan to leave him alone in a hotel room. He will howl very loudly while you are away from him. He won't be a good choice for an apartment dweller either. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Where did he come from: 1st Owner surrendered him because they plan to travel a lot and stay in hotels. He doesn't do well when they leave him alone so he does not meet their travel needs. 2nd surrender was due to Rascal being sick and they could not afford to get him to the vet. ~~~~~~~~~~ Adoption: $300~~~~~ Weight: 13 lbs.~~~~~~~~ DOB: 10-2-2011~~~~~~~~~~ ADOPTION APPLICATION: http://www.recycledpoms.org/application Email [email protected] to request a printable application. ------Please remember our group is made of only volunteers all of whom have full time jobs, foster fur-kids, and families of their own, so please be patient.---------
