Female Dog, Great Pyrenees

Great Pyrenees / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed

Description:

Meet Juniper! This precious Great Pyrenees/Australian Cattle Dog mix was rescued from a local shelter. Juniper is fully house trained and crate trained, though she prefers to be out and about with her people. With alert little ears and a spattering of freckles across her muzzle, Juniper is as cute as can be! She loves to run and play hard, especially with friends. Juniper does well with other dogs of all sizes. Her playfulness is contagious and she has even gotten the senior dog in her foster home to romp around the yard with her. She would love at least one canine companion in her forever home. Juniper will need a family who will include her in their adventures. She loves going for trips in the car and will load up without hesitation -- she has so much fun looking out the window and settles down for petting along the way. Juniper is picking up on loose leash walking skills very quickly with the help of a gentle leader. She will require enough exercise and mental stimulation to meet her energy level and help her tap into the more relaxed Great Pyrenees side of her genetic makeup. She will also need a home with a 6' fence. Juniper is great with children but due to her playfulness and high energy, she will be best with older kids. Juniper is food motivated. She is a very enthusiastic eater, but has never shown food aggression. She has been known to counter surf, but is learning that it's highly discouraged. She is a quick study for learning new commands and tricks. She already knows: sit, down, watch me, and find it. She's continuing to work on a strong recall and "leave it." If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Juniper is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.
