Please read his full bio before applying. Meet Shorty â a resilient, loving Husky ready for his second chance. After surviving nearly two years on his own, heâs proven to be social, gentle, and happiest when heâs part of a pack. He does well with other dogs and is both leash- and potty-trained. Like many huskies, heâll need a secure yard and an experienced adopter who understands his independent nature.Shorty has some important medical needs: he was shot in his front left leg and has a fractured front left leg, fractured left rear leg, a fracture in his C7, and arthritis in his lumbosacral area. He will require pain medication as needed for life, and he is currently taking Prozac, which cannot be stopped abruptly. When he is painful, he can be more sensitive and selective with other dogs.Shorty will need multiple meet-and-greets and a patient adopter willing to give him time to decompress and adjust to a new environment. Heâs looking for someone committed to working with him and giving him the understanding, care, and love he deserves.All of our dogs and cats are microchipped, sterilized, and current on vaccines before going home.
