Maisie is a 10-year-old, 65-pound, gray female that was surrendered by her owner to the shelter. She is a wonderful dog with a sweet personality. She loves companionship and enjoys both working and playing. In the past she has experienced fellings of overwhelm which resulted in some insecurity and social hesitations. However, she has successfully been through behavior modification training to help her build confidence, resiliency, and trust in others. She does a great job in being confident when she has a confident leader. She will do best in a home with owners that will have harmony between being active with her and also have the ability to be calm and relaxed. She will not do well in a home with children or other dogs. She will thrive where there is as little chaos as possible and people that will provide her with consistency, boundaries and structure. She might be hesitant meeting new people or new dogs. A calm and patient owner, with positive reinforcement, will be best for her.Maisie went through heartworm treatment but is now heartworm negative. Maisie is a big snuggler and likes to demand your attention and she also loves to play with her toys.She is being fostered in the DFW metroplex if you are interested in adopting her.
