Toby is the kind of dog who just wants to be close to youâon a hike, on a patio, or curled up at home. A volunteer recently scooped him out of the kennel for the weekend, and Toby hiked Mckinney Falls like a champ, made new friends at brunch, and braved a coffee shop even when the loud noises startled him a bit. Each new experience helped him grow more confident, and it was magical to see his sweet, affectionate, derpy soul shine through.Toby came into the shelter just past puppyhood, and he's still learning the ropes of the world. On his shelter break, he was affectionate and loving with all new humans that he met! While he got the zoomies `meeting` the neighbor's playful dogs through the fenceline, he also showed great self-control when passing other dogs out and about. In the car, he started out unsure but soon learned that car rides mean fun adventuresânow he hops in like a pro!This young guy still had a few bouncy puppy moments, but with a few stuffy toys and some snuggle time, he quickly settled and showed us he can relax. While Toby struggles with the stress of shelter life, his joyful, cuddly self truly shines through in a home. If your love languages are touch and quality time, then Toby might just be your soulmate. Heâs young, eager to learn, and ready to give his whole heart to the person who offers him a soft place to land.
