Description:
To adopt please fill out an adoption Application Suki is a small 1yo female Australian Cattle Dog who was rescued as a stray in Memphis. Friendly, well-socialized, happy temperament, never meets a stranger! Good with other dogs and enjoys playing with the other dogs at the dog park. Not recommended for cats because she likes to chase them. Fine with children and recommended for children 6 years and older. Suki has a high energy level outside but settles down quickly in the house. Good house manners. She enjoys running, hiking, spending time outdoors, going to the dog park, and meeting new people. Suki is very smart and food-motivated. Housebroken and crate trained. She barks when you put her in the kennel but settles down after you leave the room. She knows sit, stay, lay down, shake, quiet, gentle, and off… but she would benefit from further obedience training. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Loves to be with her people. DOB estimated June 2024. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 25 pounds. AWESOME young cattle dog will make a great companion (and jogging partner) for an active family who loves the breed. Cattle dogs need a significant amount of daily exercise and mental stimulation, including at least two hours of activity like running, hiking, or dog sports. Consistent, positive training is crucial to manage their intelligence, herding instincts, and stubbornness. ACDs really need a job in order to remain happy and healthy.
