Male Dog, Poodle (Standard)
Poodle (Standard) (Long Coat)
Description:
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to [email protected] with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 8/4/2023 original intake, Jaskier was placed but his guardian went back to an in office job and had no time for Jaskier anymore so returned him May 2025 Reason for being in rescue: breeder release originally, now owner release due to job challenges Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Jaskier is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Jaskier was neutered on 08/31/23 and will be ready for his forever home the weekend of 9/8/23. Weight: 45 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Jaskier would love the fun of a fenced in yard but to a committed walker or someone who has access to off leash play areas twice a week, Jaskier would be great. Mostly he wants you. What kind of home would be best for me? Jaskier loves people! While he’d fit in well with a single person or couple, he’d thrive in a lively family environment—kids, regular visitors, grandparents, cousins—the more, the merrier. His tail wags a mile a minute when someone new comes around, and he absolutely lights up at any opportunity to play or cuddle. He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs, big or small. Jaskier would do well in a home with another canine companion. He’s always had another dog by his side, and he finds comfort and joy in that bond. He could be fine as an only dog if he was with a person who would become his best friend. He’s also cat-friendly—Jaskier thinks everyone is a potential friend! What is my personality like? Jaskier is a beautiful Standard Poodle who is bursting with joy, love, and a playful spirit he can’t wait to share with his forever family. Jaskier came back to us after spending two years in a loving home. Unfortunately, his adopter’s work situation changed, leaving Jaskier alone for long stretches of time. Wanting the best for him, she made the difficult decision to return him so he could find a new home with people who have more time to spend with this amazing boy. Jaskier is the perfect mix of playful and mellow. He’s a gentle soul with a slightly goofy streak—affectionate, sweet-natured, and eager to be involved in every part of your life. He’s the kind of dog who’ll follow you from room to room, just happy to be by your side. Jaskier has been through quite a bit of training and it shows. He walks nicely on a leash and knows how to sit. We do not know all his other cues but it would be fun to explore with him to see what he knows. He’s incredibly eager to please and highly food motivated. With a little time, patience, and positive reinforcement, Jaskier will quickly learn whatever you’d like to teach him. A typical day with Jaskier might start with some food enrichment and a walk around the neighborhood, followed by a spirited play session in the yard. By noon, he’ll be happily curled up on the couch for a nap. If you’re looking for a big, lovable companion who wants nothing more than to be your dog, Jaskier might just be the perfect match for you. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly! Jaskier greets people with a wagging tail and a ready heart! He’s friendly and confident, always happy to make a new friend—and he’ll expect you to join in on the fun! Other tips and tidbits: Jaskier's birthday is 3/27/2019. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.
