Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. Georgia is up to date on vaccines for her age. Due to age, her is not spayed. She will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract which requires you to spay her at your expense within 12 months. Georgia is a very young puppy that is not house trained or crate trained. She will need patience and proper training to accomplish both. Georgia's mom Daisey is a standard poodle. Dad is a man of mystery. She is a doodle mix. She is not hypoallergenic and will shed. Weight: 30 lbs and growing - We expect Georgia will be 55-65 pounds when full grown Height: 14 in and growing - We expect Georgia will be 22-24 in at the shoulder when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? Yes, Georgia requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller What kind of home would be best for me? Georgia requires a home with another active dog for socialization and play. A person scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and can provide multiple potty breaks throughout the day and night is a must. She is a baby and needs play breaks as well as frequent and consistent potty times to aid in potty training. Georgia has never lived with cats. Doodle puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Doodle puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Doodle puppies are very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a doodle puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well, it is important to note that poodles can have a high prey drive. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can! This pup has not had contact with cats that we know of and will not have contact while with their current foster. What is my personality like? Georgia - the leader of the pack. As the pups are growing and personalities are emerging, it's obvious that Georgia is the "one to watch" in the success department. There is one good word to describe Georgia - confident Georgia learns everything quickly. Show her once and she's ready to do it. She is learning to sit and to walk on a leash. She is clean in her crate and sleeps well from 10:30 pm to 7:30 am. She is curious and inquisitive about all. She likes other dogs both large and small as long as she is not in the pack. When she is with her siblings, she is the one they follow and sometimes she leads them where they should not go! It's tough being a leader in your first supervisory role. Running the fence line after the horses is not the skill set I wanted her to learn or teach (sigh). Georgia was the first one out of the whelping box! While with very few exceptions, puppies have to go to homes with mentor dogs, Georgia is the exception. Georgia could be an only dog if you had plans for weekly socialization a minimum of 2 x per week with other dogs. Keeping her as an only dog and away from other dogs would be detrimental to her mental and emotional growth. She needs to be around her own kind. While she is more people focused, both her brain and her body need the workout only another dog can give her. Georgia is looking for a home that will take her inate intelligence and mold it. She will be easy to train because she is so intelligent. If you don't teach her, that can turn into a negative very quickly. She needs to learn, to be taught, to be shaped and molded. Georgia and her family all love one treat unconditionally - they all love milk bones Georgia's mom Daisey is wonderfully gentle and sweet and is also very much a leader. Georgia takes after her mom for sure. Daisey has already been adopted. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Georgia was born into rescue on 12/20/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet.
