Description:

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to [email protected] with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 4/18/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No, but she would love one What kind of home would be best for me? Blondie is a beautiful young terrier mix in search of her forever home and a lifetime of love. This petite girl is full of potential and ready to find someone who will be patient, kind, and home often—because being close to her humans is her favorite thing in the world. Blondie isn’t picky—she’d be happy with a single person, a couple, or a family. Her main requirement is that her adopter be home most (if not all) of the day. She thrives on companionship and doesn't enjoy being alone for long. Her small size makes her adaptable to any living environment, whether it’s an apartment or a house. A fenced yard isn’t required, but it would offer her a safe space to run and play. If you already have a friendly dog at home, even better! Blondie gets along well with other small dogs and would enjoy a companion to play with—and maybe even learn from, as she’s still figuring out how to be a pet. If you're looking for a loving, loyal companion with lots of potential, Blondie might just be the girl for you. What is my personality like? Blondie is sweet but shy at first. She may take a little time to warm up to new people, but a cozy lap and some gentle petting go a long way. Once she feels safe, she becomes affectionate, playful, and active. Blondie is still new to many aspects of pet life. She hasn’t been properly socialized, and she doesn’t yet know basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” or “come.” She also needs leash training, as walking on a leash is still unfamiliar to her. But don’t worry—she’s a smart little girl and eager to learn. With positive reinforcement, treats, and patience, she’ll blossom into a well-mannered, confident companion. Blondie is working on crate and house training. Right now, she doesn’t always make it through the night without an accident. She’ll need frequent potty breaks throughout the day and especially right before bedtime to help her succeed. Blondie is the perfect size to accompany you almost anywhere—whether it's a quick trip to the pharmacy, a visit to your favorite coffee shop, or a relaxing afternoon at an outdoor café. She’d also love adventures to the beach, the mountains, or anywhere else—as long as she’s by your side. This sweet girl has so much love to give in return for your time and patience. She’s ready to build a strong, loving bond with her new human and begin the next chapter of her life. How do I act when I first meet new people? Blondie is a tad shy when upon first meeting. Give her some time to warm up, place her in your lap and pet her ad she will quickly relax. Other tips and tidbits: Blondie was born on or about 8/25/2024. Blondie is now ON RESERVE through Thursday 5/17/25. When a dog is listed as "on reserve" this means an approved adopter has scheduled an appointment for the current week. While our adopter is not obligated to take the reserved dog home if the meet and greet is not successful. It does mean we are committed to not showing anyone else to that dog until the meet and greet is held. We do not hold dogs but, since most of our adopters come from over 2 hours one way drive, we are considerate of their time invested, hence our limited reserve policy. If Blondie's profile is removed from our available dogs page on Thursday, you'll know she's in her happy home. Look for a happy tails photo on our Facebook page on Monday. If the words "on reserve" are removed, you'll know that another lucky dog found a home and Blondieis still waiting to meet the adopter of her dreams. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.
