To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: 6 months (as of 2/11/26) Weight: 23 lbs (as of 1/26/26) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Poinsettia! She’s a gorgeous, goofy little snow bunny of a pup who thinks the world is one giant adventure—sometimes thrilling, sometimes confusing, always interesting. She didn’t get much early-life exposure, so she takes her time warming up, but give her a couple of weeks to settle in and she’ll show you her full, fabulous personality. Poinsettia is a pro snuggler, a tug‑of‑war enthusiast, and a dedicated collector of treasures—shoes, T‑shirts, socks, you name it—all carefully piled into her dog bed like a tiny dragon hoard. Her absolute favorite things? Snow (the more, the better) and playing hide‑and‑seek outside until everyone is giggling. She’s a young, active pup who needs plenty of daily exercise and fun mental stimulation to keep her happy—walks, playtime, training games, you name it, she’s in! She thrives in a quieter home with chill vibes and no kids, and she definitely needs a playful dog sibling—her confidence and joy shine brightest with a canine buddy by her side. She’s not destructive, treats her pee pad like holy ground, and is doing her best with house training despite all… this… winter. She’ll get there. She’s a smart little cookie who just needs patience and a steady routine. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, loyal sidekick who brings joy, comedy, and snow‑day magic, Poinsettia is ready to wiggle her way into your heart. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org) **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
