Male Dog, Miniature Schnauzer

Miniature Schnauzer / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: 5 years (as of 8/27/23) Weight: 9 lbs (as of 12/13/23) Location: RI Chalie is available for adoption to Massachusetts residents, as well as those in the other New England states. This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Charlie Schnauz is a sweet purebred Miniature Schnauzer who deserves to be cherished forever. He is five years old, and was recently surrendered by a breeder, along with many other small dogs who all have papers and are currently available for adoption. Charlie is the sort of dog who will truly touch your heart. He has not had many life experiences and is looking for a quiet household where he can take things slow and build trust. He can be unsure of handling; this may be due to his limited sight and hearing. Due to this we do not recommend him for a home with children. He would need a patient home that is willing to go slow with him so he can build up trust. He is startled easily, especially with touch. He is house trained and has just begun his leash training and is making progress. He likes his crate but only with the door left open. He is mild-mannered and eager to please. As a previously kenneled dog, he has had to learn about interacting with people and other animals. He is not used to normal dog things like walks on leash. He is currently in foster with two 25-pound dogs and is ok with them but prefers to observe them vs playing with them. He would love a kind and patient home to call his own. Medical Note: We suspect he is deaf and may have some sight impairment. He also has some dental issues, which are currently being addressed. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions about these conditions and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ * *Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
