Description:

Hello! I'm Elton, aka Elton Cheese and Crackers because I LOVE cheese! I have to tell you, I had a pretty rough start in life, but now that I'm in my foster home I'm gaining confidence and learning how to be a dog! My foster parents tell me that I'm doing great and learn very quickly. They're impressed at how I've progressed, but I will still need someone with time and patience to continue working with me. I am crate trained, potty trained, walk well on a leash, and get along famously with my dog brother. I love dogs! My foster parents are currently working with me on come here and sit. Foster mom buys me all sorts of tasty snacks to encourage training. I've also just learned how fun it is to have a Kong toy to play with, especially when they're filled with Cheerios! I have ridden in vehicles and feel confident enough to jump out on my own but still need help getting in. We're continuing to work on this. I also love sleeping on my dog beds. I am now a master of the stairs in my foster home! That one sure was scary to conquer. I will need a playful medium to large dog in the home to help me continue to learn and enjoy all the things about being a dog. I'll admit that I don't even know yet how to play with a tug or squeaky toy. Let's talk about outside, I LOVE being outside! I find a spot by our big pine tree and sit and sniff the air or hang out on the deck when I'm not zooming. I may be a little shy when I first meet you but it's nothing personal. I was not socialized for the first 10 months of my life. I meet people on our walks and I am curious and not afraid of them. I hope you'd like to make me part of your family, I'm so excited to get to do all sorts of great dog things as I grow up! All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6.
