Description:

PLEASE NOTE: GPMR communicates primarily by email. If you have any questions regarding one of our Mastiffs, please read their bio and if you still have questions - drop us an email at [email protected]. If you have questions about our adoption procedures, please go to our page called "Adoption Info." We answer email inquiries daily. GPMR does not have a shelter. All of our dogs are kept in loving foster homes. We must have a completed adoption application on file before meeting any of our mastiffs. GPMR adopts to the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana and parts of Colorado. !!!Any mastiffs being adopted out of the state of Oklahoma require a health certificate to be paid for by the adopter!!! ***Maggie is part of our "For the Love of Mastiffs" adoption special and her fee is waived!***Meet Maggie! Maggie is an estimated 7-year-old Mastiff who landed in an Arkansas shelter after her owner went to jail. She’s already been through so much — right after we picked her up from the shelter and took her to the vet, we discovered she had a life threatening uterine infection called a pyometra. Thankfully we got her just in time, she was hospitalized at our vet and spayed to take care of the infection. She's extremely underweight and so we're working on getting her healthy. She's also postitive for heartworms. It's clear she was neglected for some time. Maggie has been dog tested and she’s been great with some dogs but not with others. She does well with the cats in her foster home. Her foster reports she's a pretty easy keeper. Since her heartworm case is mild, the veterinarian has her on a slow kill method which consists of daily oral medications and a topical preventive that she gets monthly. She can be adopted any time and we'll send the medications with her for her adopter to continue until it's time to re-test her for heartworms.Maggie is being fostered in Canadian, TXSave a Mastiff...Adopt, Foster, Volunteer!
